Community Partners of Dallas has announced actress Katie Holmes as their featured speaker for the 12th annual Chick Lit Luncheon.

“Chick Lit is going ‘Chick Flick’ and we could not be more excited to have Katie Holmes as our keynote speaker for this year’s luncheon,” said CEO and president for Community Partners of Dallas, Paige McDaniel. “Following such notable speakers from recent years, like Tim Gunn and Bethany Frankel, we expect Katie to thoroughly enthrall our Chick Lit devotees as she shares her experiences as one of America’s favorite actresses.”

Holmes has appeared in several notable films, ranging from the action blockbuster Batman Begins, to critically acclaimed art house pictures such as Ang Lee’s The Ice Storm and Peter Hedges’ Pieces of April. She is currently working on the films Doorman, Ocean’s 8, and The Secret.

And for those of us who grew up in the 90s, she was Joey Potter on the WB TV series Dawson’s Creek.

The 12th annual Chick Lit luncheon will be held at 10:30 a.m. April 13 at the Hilton Anatole. The event will include a wine reception followed by a seated luncheon. Tables begin at $2,500 and are on sale now. Individual tickets will go on sale in early April if space permits.
