Lady Scots Seeking Gold on State Greens
The Highland Park girls will tee it up at the Class 5A state golf tournament beginning Monday at Legacy Hills Golf Club in Georgetown.
The Lady Scots finished second at the Region II tournament on April 15 in Pottsboro with the quintet of Grace Heiss, Jacqueline Zhuang, Delaney Newberry, Piper Holdridge, and Elle Dyer. Heiss was in the top 10 individually.
That performance enabled them to advance as a team to state. Heiss was a freshman who contributed to a fourth-place finish for HP at the 5A state tournament in 2022.
Earlier this month, the Lady Scots won the District 12-5A tournament in The Colony by a remarkable 94 strokes, led by a runner-up individual finish by Newberry.
