Foster, Longhorns Complete Playoff Sweep
W.T. White followed up a regular-season district championship with a dominating first-round softball playoff win.
The Longhorns cruised to a two-game sweep of Samuell in the Class 5A Division I bi-district round. They won 12-2 on Thursday and 16-1 on Friday, with both games abbreviated due to the mercy rule.
Whitney Foster was the standout in the second game. She pitched a no-hitter in addition to hitting a home run and a double. Micah Mowles, Vivianna Garibaldi, and Ilianna Garibaldi also contributed extra-base hits for WTW.
As the top playoff seed from District 13-5A, the Longhorns (22-10) will carry a 15-game winning streak into a Region II area round matchup against Midlothian next weekend.
