Lady Scots Return Home to Thump DeSoto
Highland Park bounced back from a tough weekend of softball tournament play with a season-best offensive outburst.
The Lady Scots pummeled DeSoto 18-3 on Tuesday, with Audrey Schedler and winning pitcher Cecilia Knutson leading the way.
HP lost four of its five games at the Forney ISD tournament last weekend at the Mesquite Girls Softball Complex. The Lady Scots (3-4) defeated Waco University but fell to Van, Longview, Sachse, and Granbury.
HP will continue a busy week by hosting three games on Thursday during pool play in the Lancaster tournament. The Lady Scots will face South Oak Cliff, Amarillo Palo Duro, and DeSoto.
After that, they will head east for a nondistrict game against Tyler Legacy on Friday. Then comes bracket play for the tournament on Saturday in Lancaster.
HP will start the District 7-6A schedule on Feb. 28 at Richardson Pearce. The next home game is slated for March 7 against Lake Highlands.
