SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: RESTAURANT RUCKUS

A crook took a $5,000 Gucci bag, $35,000, and a $6,000 pair of Jacques Marie Mage sunglasses from a Range Rover parked at Hillstone’s in the 8300 block of Preston Road before 5 p.m. April 18.

HIGHLAND PARK

18 Monday

Arrested at 12:37 a.m.: a 27-year-old woman accused of driving without insurance, driving while intoxicated, and driving with an invalid license in the 3400 block of Knox Street

Arrested at 3:01 a.m.: a 31 year old accused of driving without insurance, with expired registration, and an invalid license, and for a warrant in the 3100 block of Mockingbird Lane.

Reported at 3 p.m.: A pistol pilferer rummaged through the contents of an Infiniti QX60 in the 4400 block of Belclaire Avenue and took a Kimber Solo.

19 Tuesday

A reckless driver hit something at 7:14 p.m., leaving a sign on the ground, in the 3200 block of W. Mockingbird Lane, and continued on without providing information.

20 Wednesday

Reported at 11:12 a.m.: A fraudster forged the name of a man from the 3700 block of Mockingbird Lane to cash a $5,000 check.

21 Thursday

Reported at 9:40 a.m.: How easy was it for a burglar to get into a van in the 3600 block of Lexington Avenue and take various tools from inside? The van may have been left unlocked.

Reported at 10:43 a.m.: Easy pickings. A crook got into an unlocked Cadillac Escalade parked in the 4600 block of Southern Avenue and grabbed a set of golf clubs, a deposit slip, and a card key.

23 Saturday

A pilferer picked a pricey catalytic converter from a Toyota Prius parked at Whole Foods in the 4100 block of Lomo Alto Drive between 7 and 10 a.m.

24 Sunday

Arrested at 3:30 a.m.: a 34-year-old man for warrants in the 5000 block of Abbott Avenue.

UNIVERSITY PARK

18 Monday 

A rogue drove off in a Ford King Ranch truck from the 3600 block of Bryn Mawr Drive before 7 a.m.

A thief grabbed $200 and various other items from a Land Rover Discovery in the 8400 block of Turtle Creek Boulevard before 7:20 p.m.

Arrested: a 38-year-old woman for a warrant in the 3400 block of Amherst Avenue. No time was given.

19 Tuesday

Reported at 5:21 p.m.: a swindler forged checks for a total of $3,000 at a bank in the 8300 block of Preston Center Plaza.

20 Wednesday

A trickster made purchases using a credit card belonging to a woman in the 3500 block of Granada Avenue before midnight.

21 Thursday

Reported at 2:26 p.m.: a smash and grab. A ne’er do well busted the left rear window of a Ford F150 in the 6700 block of Snider Plaza and took $6,500 from the center console.

23 Saturday

A rogue burglarized a leaf blower outside a store in the 6800 block of Preston Road before 3:32 p.m.

24 Sunday

Credit cards were swiped from Evereve in the Plaza at Preston Center just before 1 p.m.

Arrested: a 56-year-old man accused of driving while intoxicated in the 4100 block of University Boulevard.
