Tuesday Night’s Shooting Investigation Involved Burglary Suspects Injured in Dallas
Two shooting victims, apprehended in Highland Park Tuesday night, are suspected in car burglary cases along Central Expressway in Dallas, authorities said.
They were apparently shot while breaking into cars and fled to Highland Park.
One of the victims, a woman, was dropped off at the Shops of Highland Park on Oak Lawn Avenue, where a bystander was urged to get her treatment, police said.
The other suspect, a man, continued to flee in a Chevrolet Silverado pickup, which was abandoned after wrecking into another vehicle near Preston Road and Beverly Drive, police said. Highland Park Department of Public Safety issued a warning at 8:38 p.m. urging residents to be on the look out for him.
That man was apprehended near Livingston Drive. The Dallas Police Department is leading the investigation.
“Last night’s incident serves as a good example of multi-agency response, investigation, and apprehension,” said Lt. Lance Koppa, of the Highland Park Department of Public Safety.
