Skulduggery of the week: Late-Night Beer Run

At 2:45 a.m. on July 7, police stopped a blue 1992 Toyota Previa van for a traffic violation in the 4200 block of Mockingbird Lane. Inside were seven passengers 18 and under, along with multiple open cans and bottles of beer. All of the underage occupants — including two 18-year-olds from University Park — were cited and released to their parents, and the remaining beer was poured out.

HIGHLAND PARK

8 WEDNESDAY
Between 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 7 and 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 8, a vandal cut the lock on a fence and a trailer at a construction site near the intersection of Mockingbird Lane and Airline Road, but nothing was stolen.

Between noon on June 29 and 9 a.m. on July 8, a thief entered an unlocked white 2012 Toyota SUV in the 3500 block of St. Johns Drive and stole a leather change purse containing $15 in coins.

At 1:54 p.m., a resident of the 4600 block of Mockingbird Lane reported that between May 15 and June 11, a thief stole two framed documents from a house — a declaration that the home is among the 100 most significant architectural homes in Dallas, and a magazine article about the home. The house recently changed hands, and the new homeowner wasn’t there at the time, but several contractors were around.

At 2:29 p.m., a resident of the 4400 block of Westway Avenue reported the theft of a $14,900 Cartier platinum and diamond wedding band and a $100 pair of pearl earrings sometime between May 29 and July 5. The homeowner was on vacation at the time.

11 SATURDAY
Between 12:30 and 3:30 p.m., a vandal intentionally pushed a red 2009 Ford Mustang back about 20 feet back from its original parking spot in the 3200 block of Beverly Drive, causing significant bumper damage.

12 SUNDAY
At 2:12 a.m., Henry Lamar Comans Jr., 55, of Dallas, was arrested in the 4300 block of Irving Avenue on a charge of driving white intoxicated.

UNIVERSITY PARK

6 MONDAY
Between noon on July 3 and 3:29 a.m. on July 6, a thief stole a $500 Sony flat-screen television from an apartment in the 3300 block of Daniel Avenue.

Between 12:15 and 2:20 p.m., a thief stole the rear license plate from a gray 2009 GMC Sierra in the 3500 block of Caruth Boulevard.

At 5:05 p.m., a man reported that between July 1 and July 4, a thief stole a $1,130 Sig Sauer pistol from a bag inside an unlocked tan 2009 GMC Yukon in the 6700 block of Golf Drive.

7 TUESDAY
Between 9 p.m. on July 6 and 6:30 a.m. on July 7, a thief stole a $1,000 Trek girls bicycle from an open garage in the 3400 block of University Boulevard.

9 THURSDAY
Between June 26 and July 9, a hooligan broke into a house in the 4200 block of Greenbrier Drive, but didn’t steal anything.

10 FRIDAY
Between 10 a.m. and 1:38 p.m., a burglar broke into a white 2011 Cadillac Escalade at Curtis Park and stole a $400 Hobo leather purse containing a $20 Guess wallet and $50 in cash.

At 6:13 p.m., a shoplifter stole a $6 can of Axe deodorant from CVS at Park Cities Plaza.

11 SATURDAY
At 12:30 a.m., a thief left without paying a tab at Hawaiian Nail Bar at Park Cities Plaza.
