1. My favorite part of The Ticket‘s coverage of the Mavs’ victory parade was the great Gordon Keith‘s assessment of the demographics in downtown Dallas: “It’s been 30 years since the people of the Park Cities felt this safe.”
2. If you didn’t brave the heat and crowds yesterday, you can meet Mavs point guard J.J. Barea in the air-conditioned comfort of the Macy’s at NorthPark at 6 p.m. today.
3. If that doesn’t strike your fancy, here’s something else to do from 7 to 9 today: Stop by the new Schlotzsky’s in Preston Center for “free food.” (The press release doesn’t get more specific than that.) While you’re there, offer them a local geography lesson, because the press release refers to this shop as the sandwich chain’s Highland Park location.
