HP to Spray For Skeeters This Weekend
You know the routine. It’s mosquito season, so the town of Highland Park will start ground spraying this weekend.
From an HP press release: “The number of mosquitoes in some traps reached the treatable threshold as established by the town’s Mosquito Control Policy.” We can’t make that up. But at least they all tested negative for West Nile Virus.
Nevertheless, ground spraying of public rights-of-way and tennis courts will take place after 10 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Crews will finish before 6 a.m. each day.
In addition to the spraying, HP officials are urging residents to take the usual steps to control skeeters, such as elimination of standing water. Residents also can have town inspectors help them identify potential mosquito breeding grounds on their property.
