Parish Launches STEM Speaker Series Next Month
Parish Episcopal School is launching a new STEM Speaker Series for teachers, students, and locals, kicking off in September with a women in STEM panel of IF/THEN ambassadors.
The first event, themed Women in STEM: Nationally Recognized Leaders Changing the World, will be Sept. 20 with five guest speakers on the panel:
- Jenn Makins, director of STEM education for Parish Episcopal School
- Julie Mirpuri, associate professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center
- Danielle Robertson, professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center
- Minerva Cordero, professor of mathematics and associate dean of science at UT Arlington
- Jennifer Stimpson: educator, innovator, and scientist
The panel, moderated by KRLD news anchor Susy Solis, will have an educator and student session at 1 p.m. and an evening session for community members at 7 p.m.
The second panel of the series’ inaugural year will be Jan. 10, 2023.
