SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: SLOW DOWN!

A careless driver hit a speed limit sign in the 4500 block of Mockingbird Lane then continued on at 9:05 p.m. Aug. 28.

HIGHLAND PARK

23 Tuesday

Officers found a Nissan Sentra that’d been reported stolen and left parked in the 4100 block of Lomo Alto Drive at 10:25 a.m.

Reported at 11:30 a.m.: a careless driver hit a Range Rover parked in the 4600 block of N. Versailles Avenue, damaging the rear bumper and brake lamp, and left the scene without providing information.

25 Thursday

Arrested at 2:56 a.m.: a 30 year old accused of possession of a controlled substance at Roland Avenue and Rheims Place.

26 Friday

Arrested at 3:39 p.m.: a 29-year-old woman for a warrant in the 5500 block of Lomo Alto Drive.

Reported at 3:46 p.m.: a jerk drove off in a Mercedes E350 that’d been left parked in the 4200 block of Livingston Avenue with the key after going through high water Aug. 22.

28 Sunday

Arrested at 2:39 a.m.: a 41-year-old woman accused of public intoxication and for warrants in the 4100 block of Lomo Alto Drive.

A rogue took a woman’s purse containing a credit card, debit card, five $20 bills, and more from the passenger side of her Mercedes Benz in the 4200 block of Oak Lawn Avenue after a struggle with its owner at 4:49 p.m.

An intruder got into a home in the 4400 block of N. Versailles Avenue and took a $25,000 Rolex watch, a $10,000 Piaget watch, and a $10,000 necklace before 5:30 p.m.

24 Wednesday

A burglar found easy pickings of various pieces of sports equipment left in an unlocked GMC Yukon in the 3500 block of Southwestern Boulevard before 7:30 a.m.

25 Thursday

An irresponsible driver hit a Toyota SUV in the 4200 block of Lovers Lane and left the scene without providing information before 6 a.m.

26 Friday

A porch pirate pilfered a child’s Giant mountain bicycle from outside a home in the 3100 block of Westminster Avenue at 6:34  p.m.

27 Saturday

Arrested at 3:39 a.m.: a 22-year-old man accused of public intoxication in the 3500 block of Bryn Mawr Drive.

Reported at 8:01 a.m. : a thief took a Dan Wesson firearm and more from a Chevrolet Tahoe in the 3200 block of Wentwood Drive.

A burglar made off with a mountain bicycle from a home in the 4100 block of San Carlos Drive before 8:11 a.m.

A ne’er do well took a Windows Pro 7 and $3,500 worth of clothes from a Mercedes GLC parked in the 8400 block of Preston Center Plaza before 4:57 p.m.

28 Sunday

Arrested at 3:45 a.m.: a 34-year-old man for a warrant in the 4100 block of Normandy Avenue.

How easy was it for a crook to make off with a Trek bicycle from a home in the 4300 block of Shenandoah Street before 11:37 a.m.? It was taken from a open garage.

A pilferer took a backpack containing a Dell computer, an iPad, and more from an unlocked Audi parked in the 4000 block of Villanova Drive before 3:10 p.m.
