SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: ART OF THE STEAL
Reported at 1:37 p.m. March 14: an art heist. A thief took a woman’s painting, valued at $7,500, from a home in the 5800 block of Orchid Lane.
14 Monday
If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. Apparently, taking that proverb to heart, a burglar who only managed to damage a passenger side window of a man’s car in the Preston-Royal Southwest shopping center switched focus and broke out the rear window before 4:51 p.m.
15 Tuesday
At 8:27 a.m., an unwelcome guest to the 7-Eleven at Preston Forest Square received a criminal trespassing warning.
Reported at 5:09 p.m.: a theft at the Semones Family YMCA (Town North) on Northaven Road.
Before 9:33 p.m., a motorist refused to share ID after a wreck with a woman in the 4100 block of Inwood Road.
16 Wednesday
Investigated at 2:38 p.m.: a theft at a home in the 11200 block of Inwood Road.
Before 4:18 p.m., a prowler stole items from a work van at a home in the 4800 block of North Lindhurst Avenue.
Stolen before 9:05 p.m.: a man’s vehicle at NorthPark Center.

Burglarized before 8:09 a.m.: a man’s vehicle at the Starbucks on Forest Lane at White Rock Creek.
Reported at 8:10 a.m.: a theft at a home in the 4900 block of Thunder Road.

Burglarized before 5:52 p.m.: a vehicle at a home in the 6300 block of Park Lane.
19 Saturday
Before 2:55 a.m., a thief stole the license plate off a woman’s vehicle outside Drake’s restaurant on Lovers Lane.
Stolen before 7:50 p.m.: a man’s vehicle at NorthPark Center.
20 Sunday
At 2:10 p.m., officers investigated a two-vehicle wreck in the 5800 block of West Northwest Highway.
