SMU Investigating Possible Degree Thief
Every couple weeks, I take a stroll through the SMU crime logs, finding stolen coyote pelts and damaged fountains.
During today’s perusal, I found this number:
120563 8:32 AM. Fraudulent,Substandard, or Fictitious Degree: SMU Police Department/3128 Dyer Street. A non affiliated person has forged a diploma, staged a graduation and changed the name on a student’s transcript. Open.
The part I’m most interested in is the “staged a graduation” part. Like, did he have his own ceremony? With a tiny stage built for one? I also assume he wore a fake mustache, because when is that not funny.
At least it proves that even if your daddy can buy your way into SMU, he can’t buy your way through it. “Staged” could mean professional photo in cap & gown w/diploma, new BMW, and mustache.
