Yogen Fruz Frozen Out of Preston Forest

Another installment in the better-late-than-never series: Yogen Fruz in Preston Forest Village has closed. It’s apparently been gone since at least February, as that is when the building permit for a floor redo was filed, which means it lasted for only about six months.

The health-conscious yogurt chain–it offers mostly fruit mixes with only a few toppings (Oreos and chocolate shavings) that might cause a twinge of built–scored pretty well in Preston Hollow People’s Sept. 11 yogurt showdown. Out of eight froyo outlets tested, it ranked third, scoring three of four spoons on the deliciousness scale. Of course, that was before 800-pound frogurt gorilla Pinkberry moved in at Preston and Royal. I’d like to think that our tepid and admittedly unscientific endorsement made its run a few days longer, but we may never know.

According to the Yogen Fruz website, the chain is preparing to open a new Dallas location on Main Street downtown.

Update: Preston Forest Village leasing representative Doug Schooley says that Clotheshorse Anonymous, which runs its intake center next door, will be taking over the old Yogen Fruz space. And it’s been gone longer than I thought, since about October Schooley says. Shows how often I make it over to that corner of the shopping center.
