Legacy Zoning Ordinance Approved Despite Application Withdrawal

An ordinance rezoning the Chase Bank site at Daniel and Hillcrest avenues was unanimously approved by University Park City Council last night after almost 10 years of moving between limbo and Planning and Zoning hearings.
The interesting part is that it happened on the same day that Legacy Hillcrest Investments withdrew their application for the zoning change.
Bob Livingston estimated that this was the third time that Legacy had yanked their application at the last minute.
Just before today’s work session I got a call from Preston V. Phillips, vice president of Legacy. He said the company would have a statement available. I’ve yet to hear from Phillips on how the ordinance will effect the company’s plans.
