Bartusek, Rangers Slip Past Scots in OT
Jesuit Dallas earned its biggest win of the lacrosse season in dramatic fashion against a longtime rival on Friday.
Cayden Bartusek scored the game-winning goal in overtime as the Rangers upset Highland Park 7-6 at Ranger Stadium. It was just the third win in six tries against in-state competition this season for the Rangers (7-5), who scored their first victory over HP since 2022.
Meanwhile, the Scots (13-3) suffered their first defeat against a Texas opponent this year. HP, which rolled past St. Mark’s three days earlier, was held to a season-low scoring output and had a three-game winning streak snapped.
Both teams are battling for seeding in the upcoming Texas High School Lacrosse League playoffs. HP has a road game at Rockwall on Monday, while Jesuit will travel to face Lovejoy on Tuesday.
