HP Boys Surge Past Wylie to Open Season

Highland Park opened up an early advantage and surged past Wylie 52-45 in the boys basketball season opener on Friday.

Jordan Stribling scored 17 points to lead three HP players in double figures. Colin Noble added 12 points and Plano Prestonwood transfer Caden Cantrell had 11 in his debut for the Scots. Noah Mallory tied game-high honors with 17 points for the Pirates.

The Scots began an extended stretch of games away from home on Monday at Plano East. They will compete in the Coppell Tipoff Classic tournament on Nov. 16-18.
