HP Prepares for New Postseason Challenge

After dominating District 7-6A for the second consecutive season, Highland Park is ready for the rigor of the volleyball playoffs.

The Lady Scots will open postseason play with a Region I bi-district match against Haltom at 6 p.m. Monday at Thomas Coliseum in Haltom City.

HP completed an unbeaten run through the league schedule with one of its most lopsided victories of the season in sweeping Irving MacArthur on Tuesday, 25-8, 25-4, 25-7. The Lady Scots (29-11) won 42 sets and dropped just two in 14 district matches.

They will put their 17-match winning streak on the line with a neutral-site playoff warmup match against Dripping Springs on Friday at Waco Midway.

Haltom is the No. 4 seed from District 8-6A after losing a third-place tiebreaker in the standings with Arlington Lamar. The Lady Buffs (21-11) have won four straight matches.
