SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: COFFEE CRASH
A reckless driver hit a Mercedes Benz parked in a space near the Starbucks at Highland Park Village while parking in an adjacent spot, went inside the coffee shop to pick up a drink, then got back in an SUV and drove away without leaving information at 7:45 p.m. Aug. 9.
HIGHLAND PARK
7 Sunday
Arrested at 7 p.m.: a 44-year-old woman for a warrant in the 4200 block of Oak Lawn Avenue.
10 Wednesday
A rogue in a Chevrolet Suburban hit a wooden fence plank in the 4200 block of Oak Lawn Avenue and left at 10:25 a.m.
A careless driver ran a red light in the 4600 block of Mockingbird Lane and hit a Toyota Highlander, causing the vehicles to hit a nearby street sign at 9:19 p.m.
11 Thursday
Reported at 7:47 a.m.: a crook got into a Ford F150 parked on the west side of Mi Cocina in Highland Park Village and took an iPad, and an iMac laptop from inside.
12 Friday
Arrested at 2:26 p.m.: a 36-year-old man accused of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving without insurance, driving without a valid license, and for warrants at the intersection of Willowood Circle and Preston Road.
13 Saturday
Arrested at 1:50 a.m.: a 24 year old accused of assault with a deadly weapon and for a warrant in the 4200 block of Lomo Alto Drive.
A thief took a license plate from a Dodge Charger parked in the 5400 block of Sewanee Avenue before 11:30 a.m.
14 Sunday
A pilferer picked through a Ford F150 parked in the 4500 block of Livingston Avenue and took a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses from inside before 1:05 a.m.
Reported at 2:57 p.m.: an irresponsible driver hit a Dodge Caravan parked in the 4200 block of Oak Lawn Avenue, leaving a broken tail light and a dent in the rear hatch.

8 Monday
A pickpurse pilfered a bag containing a credit card and blank checks from a Chevrolet Suburban parked in the Plaza at Preston Center before 1:20 p.m.
A burglar broke into a BMW 750 parked outside the Hillstone restaurant in the 8300 block of Preston Road and took a briefcase, a Lenovo laptop, and a $450 Montblanc pen from inside at 9 p.m.
Arrested at 10:55 p.m.: an 18-year-old man accused of possession of marijuana in the 3400 block of Lovers Lane.

A jerk vandalized a Nissan Rogue parked in the 3400 block of Shenandoah Avenue at 10:06 a.m.
Reported at 12:27 p.m.: a thief found easy pickings of eight iPads from an unlocked Cadillac parked in the 8400 block of Preston Road.
Reported at 3:18 p.m.: a ne’er do well took documents from a building in the 6400 block of North Central Expressway.

A robber took a Ralph Lauren piece, a credit card, a Michael Kors piece, $20 in cash, and two iPhones from a couple in the 3400 block of Milton Avenue at 11:33 a.m.
A crook got into a Hyundai Sonata parked in the 6700 block of Preston Road at 3:19 p.m.
A thief took a wallet, debit card, credit cards, and driver’s license from a Jeep Cherokee parked in the 8400 block of Preston Road before 5:40 p.m.

A burglar took a Tom Ford bag, a pair of AirPods, and a fob from a Tesla parked in the Plaza at Preston Center before 2:30 p.m.
Reported at 2:45 p.m.: a pilferer took sports equipment and documents from a Ford Expedition parked in Snider Plaza.
A prowler tried to get into a Ford Expedition parked in the 4000 block of Villanova Drive at 4:49 p.m.

A part pilferer picked a pair of tail lights from a Ford F150 parked in the 3100 block of Stanford Avenue before 6 a.m.
13 Saturday
How easy was it for a crook to take various cards and more from a Tesla parked in the 4300 block of Lovers Lane before 1:50 p.m.? The Tesla was left unlocked.
14 Sunday
Reported at 11 a.m.: a burglar took a Trek bicycle from a home in the 3600 block of Bryn Mawr Drive.
