Falcons Sweep Scots in Diamond Showdown
Highland Park’s bats remained mostly quiet during a two-game sweep by North Forney this week in a baseball battle between District 13-5A playoff contenders.
The Falcons won 4-1 on Wednesday and 5-1 on Thursday against the Scots (15-8, 6-4), who slipped to fourth place in the league standings with two weeks remaining in the regular season.
HP has lost three straight district games — scoring one run in each defeat — although the Scots defeated Burleson 8-7 in a nondistrict contest on April 9.
North Forney moved into a second-place tie with Forney, a half-game behind league leader Crandall. The Scots are finished playing all three of them.
HP returns to action on Tuesday with a home game against Greenville. Following the return game on April 22, the Scots will travel to face Prosper Rock Hill the next day.
