HP’s Buchholz Reaches 5A Quarterfinals
Highland Park senior Spencer Buchholz advanced to the quarterfinals in the 145-pound weight class at the Class 5A state wrestling tournament on Saturday in Cypress.
Buchholz, who won the Region III title the previous weekend, won two of his four matches overall in the final tournament of his decorated high school career. He was the runner-up at state a year ago.
The Scots also had two other competitors at state, but Parker Stafford (113 pounds) and Cooper Chapman (106 pounds) each lost in the first round.
