Dancers, Actors Needed At The Dallas Opera

Do you have what it takes?

The Dallas Opera is seeking accomplished and charismatic local dancers for the second production of the spectacular 62nd International Season: ‘Carmen,’ opening Oct. 19 for the first of six performances.

The company is seeking male and female dancers of all backgrounds.

Auditions will take place Aug. 18.

Classical ballet base training is desired, and experience with dancing in pairs is a plus. Those wishing to audition should prepare a 30-second improvisational solo, reflecting either flamenco or Argentinian tango style.

Dancers should bring their own recorded music. Dancers will be judged on their technique, musicality, stage appearance, and personality.

The Dallas Opera is also seeking seven male actors for this physically-intense production. Experience with stage combat is a plus. One of those seven parts will require spoken dialogue–in French.

Those hired will receive an AGMA (American Guild of Musical Artists) contract; previous membership in AGMA is not required to audition.

Send a current headshot and resume to Cayley Carroll at [email protected]. You will be contacted with the location and more information, as well as to schedule a specific audition time on Aug. 18.
