Preston Forest Community Plans Dog Park

The Preston Forest community has a big dream – to build a privately funded dog park in the neighborhood.

A campaign to fund the $300,000 project launched today.

Local resident Meredith Powell, who is spearheading fundraising events with Pam Silvestri, said there currently isn’t a dog park in her neighborhood, and there has been city-owned vacant land on Forest Lane for some time.

Powell and Silvestri are working with the city of Dallas, the Dallas Parks Foundation, Friends of the Northaven Trail, the Trust for Public Land, and the Better Block Foundation to transform the strip of land between Quincy Lane and Nuestra Drive into a green space.

If funded, two parks – one for large dogs and one for small – would be built along Forest Lane between Quincy Lane and Nuestra Drive.
