Dallas Summer Musicals Announces 2018-2019 Season
Hamilton, Disney’s Aladdin, and Hello, Dolly! will anchor the 2018-2019 season at the Music Hall at Fair Park.
Tony winner Dear Evan Hansen also will make its North Texas debut during the season, along with Cameron Mackintosh’s spectacular new production of Andrew Lloyd Webster’s The Phantom of the Opera; the romantic and adventure-filled new musical Anastasia; the legendary story direct from Broadway, Miss Saigon; and a gorgeous new Broadway production of Fiddler on the Roof.
In addition, Dallas Summer Musicals and Broadway Across America are welcoming back two audience favorites as season add-ons. The musical for every-buddy, Elf, based on the film of the same name will return to Dallas just in time for the holiday season.
By popular demand, The Book of Mormon, winner of nine Tony awards including best musical, will also return for a limited one-week engagement.

The Phantom of the Opera
Dec. 19, 2018 – Jan. 6, 2019
Cameron Mackintosh’s spectacular new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’sThe Phantom of the Opera will come to Dallas Summer Musicals as part of a brand new North American Tour. Critics are raving that this breathtaking production is “bigger and better than ever before” and features a brilliant new scenic design by Paul Brown, Tony Award-winning original costume design by Maria Björnson, lighting design by Tony Award-winner Paule Constable, new choreography by Scott Ambler, and new staging by director Laurence Connor. The production, overseen by Matthew Bourne and Cameron Mackintosh, boasts many exciting special effects including the show’s legendary chandelier. The beloved story and thrilling score – with songs like “Music of the Night,” “All I Ask Of You,” and “Masquerade” – will be performed by a cast and orchestra of 52, making this Phantom one of the largest productions now on tour.

Inspired by the beloved films, the romantic and adventure-filled new musicalAnastasia is on a journey to Dallas Summer Musicals at last. From the Tony Award-winning creators of the Broadway classic Ragtime, this dazzling show transports us from the twilight of the Russian Empire to the euphoria of Paris in the 1920s, as a brave young woman sets out to discover the mystery of her past. Pursued by a ruthless Soviet officer determined to silence her, Anya enlists the aid of a dashing conman and a lovable ex-aristocrat. Together, they embark on an epic adventure to help her find home, love, and family. Anastasia features a book by celebrated playwright Terrence McNally, a lush new score by Stephen Flaherty (music) and Lynn Ahrens (lyrics) with direction by Tony Award winner Darko Tresnjak.
Hamilton
April 2 – May 5, 2019
Hamilton is the story of America’s Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington’s right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and was the new nation’s first Treasury Secretary. Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B and Broadway, Hamilton is the story of America then, as told by America now.
With book, music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, Hamilton is based on Ron Chernow’s biography of Founding Father Alexander Hamilton.

Hello, Dolly!

Fiddler on the Roof
