Crime Reports Dec. 25 – 31

SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: BAGEL BATTLE

Maybe they asked for it toasted and instead got a cold bagel, but something crazy went down around 10 a.m. Dec. 29 when a customer threw a bagel at a 30-year-old woman at Einstein Bagel Co. in the 6100 block of Berkshire Lane.

26 Tuesday

Stolen around 3:35 p.m.: a vehicle parked in the 11900 block of Preston Road.

Tools from inside a truck toolbox were stolen around 2 a.m. while parked in the 4600 block of Stanford Avenue.

27 Wednesday

The lock on a vehicle parked at Central Market in the 3800 block of West Northwest Highway was damaged sometime between 12:40 and 2:40 p.m. and property was stolen from inside the car. 

Damaged before 7 a.m.: the door handle and front steering column of a vehicle parked overnight in the 8500 block of Midway Road. 

28 Thursday

Property from a home in the 6500 block of Brookshire Drive was stolen sometime between 2:30 and 3 p.m.

Without permission, an unwanted houseguest used a key around noon to enter a home in the 5700 block of Surrey Square Lane. 

Stolen before 8 a.m.: property from a vehicle at an apartment parking lot in the 3900 block of Inwood Road.

A 65-year-old man was assaulted with a mesh screen around 11:20 a.m. while at the Preston Forest Shopping Center. 

Arrested: A 50-year-old man accused of shoplifting between 3:50 and 4:16 p.m. from Macy’s at NorthPark Center. A 27-year old man was arrested earlier in the day, around 12:30 p.m., and also was accused of shoplifting from the department store. 

29 Friday

Miscellaneous pills in a pillbox were found around 2 a.m. at an apartment parking lot in the 6200 block of Bandera Avenue.

Pried open before 7 a.m.: the door of a portable office in the 4600 block of Miron Drive. 

Sometime between 9:30 and 11:30 p.m., the hatchback window of a vehicle parked outside of the Neighborhood Services bar in the 5000 block of Lovers Lane was pried open and property from inside was stolen. 

Stolen: property from the bed of a truck parked from 8 a.m. to noon in the 7100 block of Blairview Drive.

30 Saturday

Around 3 a.m., a customer at a Barnes and Noble bookstore in the 5900 block of Royal Lane threatened to blow up the business.

Stolen before 9 a.m.: property from inside an unlocked vehicle parked overnight in the 7100 block of Azalea Lane.

31 Sunday

A trailer and motorcycle were stolen sometime between 5 p.m. Dec. 29 and noon Sunday from a parking lot in the 5050 block of West Lovers Lane.

Arrested: A 19-year-old man accused of shoplifting around 1 p.m. from ILORi at NorthPark Center
