Neighbors filled the fellowship hall at University Park United Methodist Church last night to hear members of the Preston Center and Northwest Highway Area Plan Task Force pitch their preferred vision plan. You can view that presentation here.
Plenty of opinions were expressed during the question portion of the open house both for and against what was shown. One resident’s adamant statement that a plan that would potentially increase population density by 75 percent was “not our vision” got lots of applause. But Dallas resident Doug Deason’s “thanks” to the task force for all of their work also got some claps.
The task force wants to know your thoughts about the plans they’ve come up with after months of meetings. Dallas City Councilwoman Jennifer Gates and Mark Bowers said you can fill out this form and mail it this weekend so they can have time to review them before the task force’s next meeting in June.
Gates said they hope to take a final plan to the Dallas City Plan Commission in August.
