Mosquito Spraying Begins in HP
The Highland Park Parks Department will begin ground spraying tonight May 31, in a town-wide effort to reduce adult mosquito population density.
According to a press release from Lt. Lance Koppa, “Mosquito traps on both the east and west sides of town contained mosquito numbers above the treatable threshold.”
HP’s Parks Department monitors mosquito traps within town limits in conjunction with Dallas County Health and Human Services. None of their samples have tested positive for West Nile Virus.
Koppa advises that residents “remain inside and protect pets during the time the sprayers are in your area. Any pet water dishes left outside should be cleaned after spraying.”
Ground spraying will begin at 10 p.m. and end by 6 a.m. Dates are as follows:
Tuesday, May 31st: Truck mounted ground spraying, town-wide
Wednesday, June 1st: Truck mounted ground spraying, town-wide
Thursday, June 2nd: Truck mounted ground spraying, town-wide
