St. Mark’s Aces Analogy Competition

Ten St. Mark’s fourth-graders got a perfect score on this year’s WordMasters Challenge analogy competition. About 22,000 participated and only 50 got a perfect score.

This is the second consecutive year St. Mark’s fourth-grade class has placed first nationally in its division. KERA’s Courtney Collins visited with the erudite lads, who had to study prescribed vocabulary lists to prepare.

“It’s great to have an understanding of many words and how you can use them,” Felix Ruda told KERA. “It helps you with describing things because some simple words don’t describe things perfectly and you’ll have to go more in-depth.”
