Skulduggery of the week: Now You See It … Now You Don’t
Between 5 and 5:35 p.m. on April 19, the owner of an $18,000 platinum wedding ring reported it stolen after setting it on a shelf in a store in the 6900 block of Preston Road. When the owner returned, the ring was gone.
HIGHLAND PARK
19 TUESDAY
Between 9 a.m. on April 15 and 3 p.m. on April 19, a burglar broke into a house in the 4600 block of Beverly Drive causing $440 in damages, and stole a $150 Makita cordless drill, a $175 Makita corded drill, and a dishwasher, oven and stovetop, and a microwave.
At 11:21 p.m., the owner of a purse reported it and its contents, including $300 cash, stolen after leaving it at Mi Cocina at Highland Park Village between 6:30 p.m. on April 15 and 10 a.m. on April 16.
21 THURSDAY
Between 9:45 a.m. and 2 p.m., a burglar broke into a green Ford Expedition from the parking lot of Whole Foods in the 4100 block of Lomo Alto Drive.
At 11:01 p.m., Stephen Howard Chevannes II, 30, of Dallas, was arrested in the 3500 block of Gillon Avenue on a charge of public intoxication.

19 TUESDAY
Between 6:50 and 7:35 p.m., a thief entered a house in the 3200 block of Rosedale Avenue and stole a $5 fake Rolex, a $100 remote, a $200 G-Shock mens’ watch, $200 in cologne, a $200 Westinghouse television, a $400 Sony Ps4, $500 sunglasses, a $1,000 Invicta mens’ watch, and a $2,500 pair of Adidas Boost shoes.

At 11:17 p.m., a driver hit a parked car in the 4000 block of Stanford Avenue. At 11:25 p.m., Kathryn Elizabeth Hart, 21, of Dallas, was arrested in the 4400 block of Hanover Street on charges of driving while intoxicated and possession of marijuana.
22 FRIDAY
At 12:30 a.m., Chandler Burton Hotchkiss, 25, of Dallas, was arrested in the 3400 block of Daniel Avenue on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.
Between 4:30 p.m. on April 21 and 7:30 a.m. on April 22, a thief entered the garage of a house in the 3300 block of Purdue Street and stole a $700 Trek boys’ bicycle.
At 1:11 p.m., Demarcus Cortez Brown, 23, of Dallas, was arrested in the 3800 block of University Boulevard on a charge of aggravated robbery with a firearm.
Between 8:30 a.m. and 3:45 p.m., a thief entered a garage in the 4100 block of Hyer Avenue and stole a $399 Razor scooter.

At 12:01 a.m., a minor was arrested in the 6200 block of Hillcrest Avenue on a charge of driving while intoxicated.
At 2:10 a.m., an armed robber stole a $100 cash register containing $238 in cash from CVS in the 3000 block of Mockingbird Lane.
24 SUNDAY
At 3:30 p.m., Raymond Nunez, 36, of Fort Worth, was arrested in the 3500 block of Lovers Lane on a charge of public intoxication.

At 6 a.m., Victor Shane Curry, 34, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting from Macy’s at NorthPark Center.
At 3:08 p.m., a shoplifter stole merchandise from Neiman Marcus at NorthPark Center. Eden T. Wondimagegn, 29, was arrested on a charge of theft.

At 1:27 p.m., a shoplifter stole merchandise from Macy’s at NorthPark Center. Alvin Garrett, 27, was arrested on a charge of theft.
