Earhart to Appear at Love Field Gala
A woman sharing a name with one of the most famous figures in the history of aviation — Amelia Earhart — will be the guest speaker at the annual Frontiers of Flight Museum Gala on Saturday at the Love Field museum.
Amelia Rose Earhart will share stories with the crowd about being the youngest woman to fly around the world in a single-engine aircraft. She accomplished the feat last year, almost eight decades after her namesake, who apparently is not related, disappeared and was presumed dead while trying to navigate the globe in an age of much more primitive aircraft.
At any rate, the gala will honor Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport leader Sean Donohue, and is chaired by Sam Coats, vice chairman of the DFW Airport Board. Proceeds will benefit the museum’s STEM programs that target more than 10,000 students every year. Go here for ticket information.
