SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: You’d Think This Purse Would be More Valuable

Between 8:55 a.m. and 1:40 p.m. on April 8, a burglar broke into a house in the 4000 block of Bryn Mawr Drive and stole more than $35,000 worth of jewelry, including a $12,700 necklace; three wristwatches with a total value of $5,600; a $500 iPad; and a $40 purse.


HIGHLAND PARK

11 FRIDAY
At 2 a.m., Jeffrey Alexander Gebara, 21, of Dallas was arrested in the 4600 block of Mockingbird Lane on a charge of driving while intoxicated.Between 1:30 and 3 p.m., a thief stole a Cannondale mountain bike, a Denon stereo receiver, a Milwaukee 18-volt battery and charger, and five bottles of wine from a detached garage in the4600 block of Mockingbird Lane. A landscaping crew was on the property at the time of the larceny.

12 SATURDAY
At noon, an employee of the Christian Louboutin store atHighland Park Village reported the theft of a $1,395 Christian Louboutin Sweet Charity purse sometime between April 4 and April 7.Between 1 and 3:30 p.m., a shopper at Highland Park Village lost a 2-carat, pear-shaped diamond stone from a wedding band, valued between $15,000 and $20,000. The owner last saw the diamond in Patrizio’s restaurant, then continued shopping and didn’t notice it was missing until arriving home.

13 SUNDAY
At 10 p.m., Jeffery Vaughn Dobbs, 40, of Richardson was arrested in the 4100 block of Beverly Drive on a charge of driving while intoxicated.


UNIVERSITY PARK

7 MONDAY
Between 6 p.m. on April 5 and 9 a.m. on April 7, a thief stole a $500 Trek boys’ bicycle from a home in the 3600 block of Rosedale Avenue.

8 TUESDAY
At 5:15 p.m., a resident of the 3800 block of Marquette Streetreported that $2,500 worth of jewelry and $310 worth of silverware had been stolen from her home.

9 FRIDAY
At 2 a.m., Mark Vincent Clive, 56, of Fort Worth was arrested on a public intoxication charge in the 3000 block of Mockingbird Lane.

10 THURSDAY
At 12:10 p.m., a student reported that her laptop was stolen from aHighland Park High School classroom between 2:45 p.m. on March 27 and 8 a.m. on March 28.Between 2:45 and 2:50 p.m., a thief stole a woman’s $40 Vera Bradley wallet at a store in the 4000 block of Northwest Parkway. The woman had set her purse down momentarily while she talked to a store employee. The wallet held $80 in cash, a checkbook, a credit card, a debit card, and a driver’s license.

11 FRIDAY
Between 11:10 and 11:40 a.m., a thief stole $1,200 worth of landscaping equipment from a utility trailer in the 3900 block of Marquette Street.At 8:45 p.m., Gina Delbano, 49, of Dallas was arrested on a littering charge in the 7000 block of Hursey Street.

13 SUNDAY
Between 7:30 p.m. on April 12 and 9:30 a.m. on April 13, a burglar stole a $1,500 Macbook and a $400 Kenwood stereo from a silver 2008 Volkswagen Touareg that had been left unlocked in the3100 block of Caruth Boulevard.Between 2 and 11 a.m., a burglar broke into a silver 2010 Chevy Equinox in the 3300 block of Greenbrier Drive and stole $2,000 worth of Taylor Made golf clubs and a $200 Marc Jacobs purse.At 9:28 p.m., a shoplifter walked out of CVS in Park Cities Plazawith $134 worth of toiletries, hair-care products, and shaving accouterments that had not been paid for. Samuel Castro, 31, of Dallas was arrested on a theft charge.


DALLAS

7 MONDAY
At 2 a.m., a burglar broke into an apartment in the 4300 block of Holland Avenue and stole a $1,000 Lenovo laptop computer, a $500 Sig Sauer P250 handgun, an $80 Mountain Hardwear duffel bag, and a $60 pair of REI slippers.At 8:05 p.m., thieves stole three iPhone 5 units, along with a Samsung S4 and a Samsung tablet, from the Verizon Wireless store at Preston Center. The electronics had a total value of $2,800.Between 8:45 a.m. and 8:15 p.m., a thief stole a gray 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe [value?] in the 3000 block of Knox Street. Among the other stolen items were a $1,200 set of 22-inch rims, a $500 Kenwood stereo, and a $300 speaker.

8 TUESDAY
At 6:05 p.m., two shoplifters stole 12 pairs of pants and three shirts, with a total value of $758, from the Express store atNorthPark Center. Elizabeth Barrera, 40, was arrested on a theft charge. Edward Pina, 47, was arrested on charges of theft and possession of cocaine.Between 6:59 and 7:11 p.m., a burglar cut the lock off a construction shed in the 4200 block of Lemmon Avenue and stole a roll of copper wire with an undetermined value. The burglar also used a backhoe to pull the door off a second shed, but nothing was stolen from it.At 7:51 p.m., a shoplifter stole two knit shirts, with a total value of $590, from Neiman Marcus at NorthPark Center. Reynaldo Coronado, 21, was arrested on a theft charge.

9 WEDNESDAY
Between 10 p.m. on April 8 and 7 a.m. on April 9, a thief stole a white 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe valued at $15,000 from the 4300 block of Glenleigh Drive. The vehicle contained $4,000 worth of jewelry, a $2,500 Louis Vuitton purse, $2,000 worth of clothing, a $1,000 laptop computer, and $200 worth of kitchen utensils.Between 11 a.m. and 9:45 p.m., a burglar broke into a white 2014 Dodge sedan at Preston Center and stole a $1,200 Apple Macbook Air.10 THURSDAY
At 6:30 a.m., a burglar broke into a vacant commercial space atInwood Village and stole a $250 Dewalt drill and drywall paddle.

At 2:34 p.m., a shoplifter stole two gold-chain necklaces, with a total value of $2,090, from the Versace store at NorthPark Center. The thief was trying on one of the necklaces and holding the other when he ran out of the store.

Between 3:20 and 4:10 p.m., a burglar broke into a silver 2012 Lexus hatchback in the 5100 block of West Lovers Lane and stole $2,500 worth of clothing, a $1,300 Macbook laptop computer, $1,000 worth of jewelry, an $800 iPad Mini, a $600 iPhone 5, a $300 suitcase, $300 worth of computer accessories, a $200 bag, and assorted papers.

Between noon and 7:30 p.m., a burglar broke into a red 2004 Chevrolet SUV at Preston Center and stole a $200 Pioneer radio.

11 FRIDAY
At 1:30 p.m., a thief tried to pass a fraudulent check at the Comerica Bank branch at Preston Center. Although that attempt failed, the woman stole $34 from a collection jar for the March of Dimes.

At 5:50 p.m., a shoplifter was detained after stealing a $145 pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses from Sunglass Hut at NorthPark Center and a $100 Hollister jacket from the Hollister store. Justin Johnson, 24, was arrested on two theft charges.

12 SATURDAY
At 11:30 a.m., a shoplifter stole five men’s dress belts, with a total value of $1,370, from Neiman Marcus at NorthPark Center. Donneisha Lashun Angton, 23, was arrested on a theft charge.

Between 9 p.m. on April 11 and 1:50 p.m. on April 12, a burglar broke into a silver 2003 Mercedes station wagon in the 7500 block of Caruth Boulevard and stole a 24-karat diamond necklace valued at $5,000 and a $2,000 multiple CD case. The same night, a burglar broke into a black 2008 GMC SUV in the7400 block of Caruth Boulevard and stole a $10 phone and some checks.

13 SUNDAY
Between 8 p.m. on April 12 and 11:30 a.m. on April 13, a burglar caused $500 worth of damage while trying to break through the rear window of a black 2011 Cadillac sedan in the 7500 block of Marquette Street. The same night, a burglar caused $500 worth of damage while trying to break a window of a silver 2003 Honda SUV in the 7200 block of Marquette Street.

At 2:38 p.m., a shoplifter stole $547 worth of women’s clothing from Nordstrom at NorthPark Center. Brizeida Rocio Navasbonilla, 22, was arrested on a theft charge.
