Barnicle – Unwin
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hanford Barnicle of Cove City, N.C., are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Anne Barnicle, to David Charles Unwin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Valentine Unwin of Highland Park.
The bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Perry McIlwean of Cove City and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Hanford Barnicle of Fairfax, Va. The groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Redding Turner III of Highland Park and the late Mr. and Mrs. David Valentine Byrom Unwin of Lee-on-the-Solent, Hampshire, England.
Emily received a Bachelor of Arts in ancient/medieval history from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Besides earning a Piano Guild Diploma, Emily is also an accomplished linguist who reads Hebrew, ancient Greek, and Latin.
David is a cum laude graduate of St. Mark’s School of Texas. He graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., receiving a BSFS in international economics. David also received his JD and LLM in international and comparative law from the Duke University School of Law. He will be clerking for the Texas First Court of Appeals in Houston.
The couple will exchange vows on Aug. 10, 2013, at the First Baptist Church of Durham, N.C.
