DISD Kids Will Flood Ford Stadium on Saturday

If you live near Ford Stadium, you should know it will be the site of an Imagine 2020 kickoff party on Saturday. According to a DISD press release, 5,000 students from the feeder patterns for Lincoln, Madison, and Pinkston high schools have been invited. Think they might want to attend?

Saturday’s Imagine 2020 event will feature an exhibition area called “A Walk of Dreams” comprised of 40 booths that will showcase local sports programs, urban summer camps and after school programs, and university college information. Special entertainment includes Rock T, rapper Propaganda, R&B singer Coriano Gibson, step teams, dancers and BMX-trick riders. Throughout the day, there will be drawings for prizes including iPads, sporting gear, amusement park tickets and other cool prizes as well as free food.

You’ve been warned.

    Hi Dan-
What are you doing Tuesday at 12:30?

I’ll be in West Dallas and I would like to introduce you to some of the wonderful students, teachers, families and Dallasites I have met who also go to school, work and live in the feeder patterns you mentioned.

I believe you would be more excited to see this celebration as opposed to your concern about traffic. I assume you’re warning readers because of heighten traffic– right? Because it sounds like a terrific event to celebrate successes in our communities and schools.

Please reach out– I would enjoy meeting you.
