Caroline Thomas and Tyler Torbett weddingCaroline Marie Thomas and Tyler Herrington Torbett exchanged wedding vows June 4 at the romantic and scenic Montaluce Winery & Estates set amidst the Appalachian Mountains in northern Georgia. The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Edward Cook. A reception at the Dahlonega, Ga., winery followed.

The bride is the daughter of Don and Stephanie Mummert and the late Ronald Thomas of Highland Park. She is the granddaughter of Mary Stuart and the late Daniel B. Stuart of Highland Park and the late James and Marie Thomas of Dallas.

The groom is the son of Kenneth B. and Debera Torbett of Marietta, Ga. He is the grandson of Martha and Kenneth S. Torbett of Palm Coast, Fla. and Margaret Herrington and the late Raymond Herrington of upstate New York.

The bride chose a custom designed gown by Anne Barge. The lace-tiered, mermaid silhouette design featured a sweetheart neckline. The bride carried a bouquet of peonies, with her great grandmother’s handkerchief wrapped around the stems. A special flower arrangement was on display in memory of the bride’s father and grandfather.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents. Attending as maids of honor were Christina Mary Thomas and Ashley McElroy. Bridesmaids included Charlotte Lee Stoner Dettbarn, Megan Torbett Becker, Virginia Criswell Kelley, Margaret Elizabeth Brown, Lauren Shelby Pond, Jessie Morgan White, and junior bridesmaid Madison Kay Stuart, cousin of the bride.

The junior bridesmaid sang “In My Life,” a popular Beatles tune, during the ceremony and was accompanied by the string quartet from the Atlanta Symphony.

The best man was Davin Thomas DiFulco. Groomsmen included Elliot Jackson Willard, John Matthew Becker, John Benjamin Schaedle, Andrew Jennings Brown, Ryan Torbett, and Jonathan Luke Hanson.

The bride is a graduate of Bending Oaks High School in Dallas. She received her Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of Mississippi, where she was also a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She is employed by Career Builder as a medical recruiter.

The groom is a graduate of Woodward Academy in Atlanta, Ga. He received his Bachelor of Science in marketing and management from the University of Mississippi, where the couple first met in 2005. He was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity during his college years, and he later became a member of the President’s Club, a business organization. He is the regional sales manager at Dearborn National in Atlanta.

Following their wedding trip to Anse Chastanet Resort in St. Lucia, the newlyweds now reside in Marietta, Ga.
