Highland Park Home Burglarized With Residents Inside

From this week’s blotter:

At 3:05 a.m. Aug. 9, a burglar broke into a home in the 4600 block of Fairfax Avenue and stole a $400 Louis Vuitton wallet containing two debit cards and a credit card. The homeowner was sleeping on the couch when the burglar broke in. The suspect ran past him, knocked him over, then fled. After police arrived, pry marks were found on three exterior doors.

Usually there’s something folks can do to better protect themselves (I often say “Just lock your car and take your iPhone inside!” while writing the weekly blotter), but this just seems like a scary situation. Hope everyone’s alright.

Bradford, please investigate how many officers are on duty at night in HP and UP.

What a stupid thing to say. Are you just plain ignorant or trying to be a snob?

    former scot #24 —

the 4600 block actually is in HP. the cozy little pocket of streets from southern to bordeaux is actually one of the most friendly neighborhoods on the planet. it has what a large part of UP is missing — character.

and it’s truly awesome that you are so proud of the number you wore in high school sports – that’ll so get you laid in zippers…

Mr. #24, guess what? The HP Water Tower that services each home in HP is located in West Highland Park. How about we West HP siders cut off the water to your house since we live on the wrong side of the tracks. It’s pretty hot these days. lol.

When you make it on your own, then maybe, and only maybe, can you make a stupid comment. But I would not advise it.

Best to you in the real world.

I would love to see more police crusiers patroling at night. I rarely see any. Bradford, it would be great to know the answer to John’s question.

“It’s ms. #24”? What does that mean? You WERE formerly married to a former Scot whose number was #24? Lose the moniker…you don’t deserve to call yourself a Scot or be associated with one with your trash talk RE “wrong side of tracks”. That kind of cr@p is strangling our two towns.
