Scots Open Football Workouts

Highland Park head football coach Randy Allen was pleased with the way his team looked on Monday’s first day of practice inside the indoor facility, which is now equipped with four huge fans on the ceiling.

The Scots, who also practiced at Highlander Stadium earlier in the day, are coming off a 12-1 season. Highland Park will scrimmage Plano West at home on Aug. 19. The Scots open the regular season against Everman in the Tom Landry Classic on Aug. 27.

“They were in such good condition because they worked so hard this summer,” Allen said. “When you’re in good shape like that, you can do a lot more. You can input more and get a lot more done in practice.”

Practice will be inside for every afternoon to combat the heat. The Scots will have a varsity intrasquad scrimmage at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
