Maybe not acceptable; but not gross.

GROSS! I have seen 2 dogs in the Tom Thumb in Snider Plaza. If I see it again, I will be complaining to the manager. I swear, people treat their dogs better than their children. This is not Europe. Leave the dogs at home.

Meh….not a big deal. On the other hand, if the dog had been a pug or some other breed with a clearly visible anus: Gross.

Pretty sure it’s against code wherever food is served, except patio. Plus, the whole dog-as-accessory thing is so 2009…

Even Europeans leave the dogs outside the grocery store!

What is gross about it? What is going to happen because a dog is there? Most dogs are way better behaved than most kids in stores & restaurants, I’d much rather be seated next to someone and their poodle than someone and their 3 year old. Provincial Americans.

Leave the dog at home, tie it to a tree or keep it in the car. Only place you expect to see dogs (other than the seeing eye variety) is PetSmart.

So….if I have a big dog…she can’t come in? haha. Just don’t get why people with small dogs think they can bring them in to a store like that. A dog is a dog and they belong outside or in your home.

Gotta agree with Kmom on this one! Even though I’m not really feelin’ it for the yappy little breeds, I don’t have a problem with a well-behaved puppy waiting on his latte. Besides, I have cats who ALWAYS climb on the kitchen counters. Gross, I know…but short of trying to electrify my counter tops, there’s really nothing I can do but chase ’em off when I see it. So sharing a little nosh-time/space with doggie brethren doesn’t bother me much.

One problem is that one well-behaved pup gives others the idea that their not-so-well-behaved dogs could also join in the fun. I also remember once when I was at a store and a woman had her dog with her. As my kids asked if they could pet the dog, the owner replied no because she isn’t good with people. Yet she brought her to a store that would logically be frequented by…people.

It is that kind of thinking makes me wonder about people.

The guy is holding his dog? How is that remotely gross? Gross would be the guy that takes a dump and doesn’t wash his hands and then comes out to order his coffee.

mk-those are YOUR counter tops. I can choose whether or not to eat at your house.
Gringo-good point, but I don’t want deuce droppers in there any more than I want dogs.
kmom-Provincial Americans? I’m just sick of dogs everywhere.

The dog isn’t on the counter top, I’ve never seen someone walk in and plop their dog on a counter top of a store or restaurant type joint. If you are walking you lil dog around Snider Plaza and decide to get a Latte, pick Fido up and hold him while you order and get your drink, what’s the harm in that? If she plopped the dog down on the middle of a table or on the counte of course that would be an issue. If you plopped your snot nosed kid on the counter I’d have a problem with it. But carrying your dog or kid like that? Who cares?
