HPISD Asst. Superintendent Ben Coker to Retire

After 10 years navigating the ins and outs of Highland Park ISD’s finances, assistant superintendent Ben Coker announced his retirement Thursday afternoon.

Coker’s tenure at HPISD was the culmination of a 42-year career in education.

“Over the years, we have looked under every rock for every penny to make a difference for our students,” Coker said in a statement.  “My colleagues here in Highland Park have been great to work with, and I will miss seeing them every day.”

The announcement came after this week’s Park Cities People was sent to press; for a more in-depth look at Coker’s contributions to the district, check out next week’s edition.
