I stopped in at the Preston-Royal Borders soon after the “going out of business” signs went up and found that most things were discounted only 20 percent. In other words, a $20 graphic novel would still cost $16. Meh.

But I got an e-mail from Borders last night announcing that prices would be cut by up to 50 percent today. A $10 graphic novel? That’s more like it.
