congrats to the scots for again overachieving and making a great play off run.
i guess the strategy of playing all the starters deep into blow out games failed to produce a champion again this year.
the football “gods” have again proven the fallacy of piling on style points, especially at the high school level.
Poteet did a better job planning. They obviously found something lacking on the Scots right side defense. Wow.
How about a deep safety?
Agree with #24 above…congrats on overachieving and making a surprising playoff run.
The crowd was impressive.
Big supportive crowd despite being herded into the stands like cattle after the prior game. I agree, too bad the safety on the right side decided not to show up for the game and the offense struggled under senior leadership. Can’t wait till next year and a “full time” quarterback with a passing game. We beat ourselves with too many mistakes to count. Poteet wont’ have a chance next week.
Take it easy, gentlemen. Let’s not forget these are high school kids who don’t get paid for playing. Singling out a player by position on the blog is pretty mean-spirited. I am pretty sure the kids who made mistakes feel bad enough as it is. Poteet was simply the better team with better athletes this year, so let’s move on.
Thank you for the perspective. Unacceptable to call out a high school kid (or college kid, for that matter) for performance. Disappointing end to a great season, but the boys should be proud of themselves.
Oddly, the giant video board was filled with Cowboys-Giants highlights immediately after the game.

That was a butt-whoopin.

@ AMD,

my money is on the fact that neither grump or matt were team sports players in their youths.
@ Matt
Looks like Poteet does, in fact, have a chance. Poteet 42, Bastrop 35. On to State semi-finals.
