Locking your car and garage should always be on your “to-do” list; just ask this resident in the 4500 block of Emerson Avenue who failed to do both and had $4,100 in jewels stolen sometime between 2 and 2:45 p.m. Sept. 9 from his unlocked car in his open garage.

Crime Reports Aug. 26 – Sept. 1

At 8:37 a.m. Sept. 1, officers found a white Ford Explorer illegally parked in the 3300 block of Mockingbird Lane between two signs and forcing eastbound motorists to drive over the yellow lines. After a wrecker service loaded it onto a tow truck, the owner, who was attending church, came out and said she didn’t know she was parked illegally.

Crime Reports August 5 – 11

A resident in the 3800 block of Lovers Lane confronted a landscape worker caught taking a package off the front porch at 5:35 p.m. Aug. 9 and  The worker returned the items – or so it seemed. Upon later examination, the resident noticed that one item was still missing.

a postal worker noticed a change of address that looked suspicious in the 3500 block of Drexel Drive and after checking with the homeowners concluded that it was fraudulent and the “new address” was to an abandoned house.
