After pacing themselves during the regular season, Highland Park and the rest of District 15-5A will now sprint for the finish line.

The district meet will be Friday at Myers Park in McKinney, with the girls race at 8:30 a.m. followed by the boys at 9 a.m. The top teams and individual finishers will advance to the Class 5A Region II meet on Oct. 29 in Grand Prairie.

The HP girls won a warm-up meet on Oct. 13 in Haltom City behind top-20 finishes from Olivia Scott, Grace Beitter, Sophie Schott, Emma Parker, Grace O’Keefe, and Gracyn Applegate.
