HP Library Presents “Meet a Firefighter”
In recognition of Fire Prevention Week, the Highland Park library will host “Meet a Firefighter” at 10 a.m. Oct. 14. Children of all ages are invited to attend this special edition of Story Time. An HP Department of Public Safety officer will be on hand to explain firefighting equipment, and discuss fire safety. Kids will also have the opportunity to try on firefighter gear.
Fire Prevention week runs from Oct 9- 14. This year’s theme is “Don’t Wait – Check the Date! Replace Smoke Alarms Every 10 Years.” The campaign teaches students how to tell if a fire alarm is older than 10 years. It also encourages them to check all the alarms in their home.
