DFW Restaurant Week Kicks Off Near You

DFWrestaurantweek (2)It’s that time of year again when hungry souls, or bellies, across Dallas-Fort Worth travel near and far to dress up, take shameless food pictures for Instagram, and dine on a budget at the area’s most popular hot spots.

DFW Restaurant Week kicks off today and runs through Aug. 21 (with some restaurants extending until Sept. 4). More than 130 Dallas restaurants are offering three-course prix fixe dinners for $35 or $45. Many restaurants are also offering a two-course lunch menu for $20.

Guests can treat themselves while also giving back to the community with 20 percent of proceeds going to the North Texas Food Bank and Lena Pope, an organization providing intervention, counseling, and educational services to meet behavioral health needs of children and families.

Park Cities and Preston Hollow are jumping in on the culinary experience with a variety of restaurants offering Asian, French, seafood, and American cuisine. Here are highlights on some of the neighborhood’s participating restaurants:

  1. Bistro 31, Highland Park Village: Escape to the French Riviera without leaving Highland Park at this urban-casual spot with a stand-up coffee bar and garden courtyard. Menu highlights include lobster mac and cheese and Nutella tiramisu.
  2. Dish, Hillcrest Avenue: The open, modern interior offers the perfect spot to experience their fresh, simple comfort food. Menu highlights include roasted Atlantic salmon and key lime cheesecake.
  3. Shinsei, Inwood Road: Get your pan-Asian fix at this modern, cross-cultural spot meaning “new beginning.” The menu offers a variety of tasty plates like sashimi, lobster tacos, and Hoisin baby back ribs.
  4. Woodlands American Grill, Forest Lane: This cozy, warm interior offers innovative American crowd pleasers. Menu highlights include chimichurri steak with white truffle parmesan potatoes and white chocolate raspberry crème brûlée.
  5. Café Pacific, Highland Park Village: This sophisticated neighborhood seafood and steak spot has been in the Dallas dining game for over 34 years. Menu highlights include seafood paella and chicken breast paillard.

Other neighborhood restaurants include Front Room Tavern, Grain Restaurant at Hilton Dallas – Park Cities, Nick and Sam’s Grill, and The Theodore.
