Skulduggery of the week: Halloween Haymaker
At 11:10 a.m. on Oct. 31, a road-rage incident at the Miracle Mile shopping center led to the driver of a white 2015 Land Rover being punched in the face. The perpetrator, who drove a blue 2006 Chevrolet van, also damaged a $400 pair of Zegna sunglasses.
HIGHLAND PARK
26 MONDAY
Between 4 p.m. on Oct. 23 and 8 a.m. on Oct. 26, a thief stole a Raleigh mountain bike at Armstrong Elementary School.
Between 8 a.m. on Oct. 25 and 8 p.m. on Oct. 26, a thief stole a $350 Impakt BMX bicycle and a $450 Razor scooter from a front porch in the 3400 block of Harvard Avenue.
27 TUESDAY
Between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., a vandal used a rusted sewer cap to shatter the rear window of a black 2012 Range Rover in the 3600 block of Cornell Avenue, but nothing was stolen.
28 WEDNESDAY
Between 1:15 and 1:35 p.m., a thief stole a Trek mountain bike at Armstrong Elementary School. A teacher witnessed the larceny and called police, but the cyclist fled down an alley.
At 3:40 p.m., a thief stole a $2,000 Balenciaga purse, containing $800 worth of gift cards and a $500 iPhone, from the driver’s seat of an open black 2015 BMW sedan at Highland Park Village.
29 THURSDAY
At 3:16 a.m., Christopher Stringer, 37, was arrested in the 4300 block of Westside Drive on charges of burglary of a building and evading arrest.
30 FRIDAY
At 12:57 p.m., a shoplifter stole a $3,100 purse from Chanel at Highland Park Village. The male thief ordered a wallet using a fake name and contact information, and was left alone for a short time in the rear showroom before leaving the store.
At 2:16 p.m., a resident of the 4300 block of Livingston Avenue saw a prowler in the back yard, peering in through the window. The man earlier rang the doorbell and asked for someone who didn’t live there. He fled before police arrived.
1 SUNDAY
At 4:27 a.m., Marquise Antonio Vega, 21, was arrested in the 4500 block of Bordeaux Avenue on a public intoxication charge.
At 7:43 a.m., a reckless driver on a cell phone crashed a blue 2007 Hyundai Sonata into a private retaining wall and some shrubbery in the 3500 block of Armstrong Avenue, causing $1,000 in damage. The driver did not appear to be intoxicated.
Between midnight and 11:30 a.m., a vandal keyed a red 2006 Mercedes sedan in the 3200 block of Princeton Avenue, causing at least $500 in damage.

28 WEDNESDAY
Between 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 27 and 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 28, a thief stole all four wheels, valued at $4,500, from two white 2015 GMC Yukon SUVs in the 4400 block of Emerson Avenue.
At 3:50 p.m., Keaton Roddy Baker, 19, of University Park was arrested in the 6600 block of Cleburne Street on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
29 THURSDAY
Between 2:15 and 2:30 p.m., a thief stole a parcel box, valued at $305, from a porch in the 4100 block of Grassmere Lane.
At 3:15 p.m., Pamela Hons King, 47, of University Park was arrested on a charge of purchasing or furnishing alcohol to a minor in connection with an Oct. 16 party in the 3200 block of Stanford Avenue.
Between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., a vandal damaged the window of a white 1997 Honda Accord in the 3600 block of Asbury Avenue.
30 FRIDAY
At 5:32 a.m., Max Leon-Jaimes, 21, of Dallas was arrested in the 3200 block of Caruth Boulevard on charges of public intoxication, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Between 9 p.m. on Oct. 29 and 9 a.m. on Oct. 30, a burglar broke into a black 2011 GMC Yukon in the 2800 block of University Boulevard and stole the third-row seat.
