Skulduggery of the week: Take My Care, Please

Between 9:15 and 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 30, a thief stole a white 2012 Mercedes SUV from the street outside Highland Park United Methodist Church. The driver left the keys in the car and the doors unlocked.

HIGHLAND PARK

24 MONDAY
At 2:24 a.m., Bradley Joseph Kettner, 23, of Dallas was arrested in the 5200 block of Armstrong Avenue on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

26 WEDNESDAY
At 4:52 a.m., Jaime Amaya, 40, of Dallas was arrested in the 3500 block of Oak Lawn Avenue on a public intoxication charge.

Between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., a vandal intentionally left a two-inch scratch on the passenger door of a green 2014 Ford Mustang in the 4200 block of Oak Lawn Avenue, causing $100 in damage.

28 FRIDAY
At 11:05 p.m., a vandal egged a black 2012 GMC Yukon at an apartment complex in the 4300 block of Lomo Alto Drive.

29 SATURDAY
Between 9 p.m. on Aug. 28 and 12:43 p.m. on Aug. 29, a burglar broke into an orange 2013 Dodge Ram in the 4700 block of Bowser Court and stole a $400 Garmin GPS unit while rifling through other the glove box and center console.

30 SUNDAY
At 3:05 a.m., Michael David Anderson, 36, of Dallas was arrested at the intersection of Knox Street and Travis Street on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

Between 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 29 and 7:50 a.m. on Aug. 30, a burglar broke into a black 2014 GMC Yukon in the 4600 block of Southern Avenue and stole a third-row seat. During the same time frame, a miscreant broke into a silver 2012 Yukon in the 4600 block of Livingston Avenue and attempted to steal a third-row seat, but a locking mechanism prevented the larceny.

31 MONDAY
At 4:50 a.m., a burglar broke into D.D. French Cleaners in the 4100 block of Lomo Alto Drive and stole change from the cash trays. A surveillance service spotted a suspicious man in a black hoodie that was covering up any identifying features, but he was gone by the time police arrived.

UNIVERSITY PARK

24 MONDAY
At 1:18 a.m., Orson Sanchez-Lugo, 24, of The Colony was arrested in the 7100 block of Lomo Alto Drive on a public intoxication charge.

At 3:30 p.m., a thief stole a $100 Orvis wallet from an unlocked white 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe at The Plaza at Preston Center.

Between 7:15 a.m. and 6 p.m., a thief stole $700 worth of music equipment from an attached garage in the 4100 block of Hyer Avenue.

25 TUESDAY
At 4:10 p.m., a resident of the 4100 block of Hanover Streetreported that their credit card was used to buy a $39 Nautica shirt and $34 worth of Perfumania fragrances on Aug. 19, and those items were subsequently shipped to their house.

27 THURSDAY
Between 3:30 a.m. and 6 p.m., a thief stole the license plates from a red 2015 Ford F-350 in the 3200 block of Southwestern Boulevard.

28 FRIDAY
Between 9 p.m. on Aug. 27 and 5:50 a.m. on Aug. 28, a thief stole the third-row seat from an unlocked black 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe in the 4400 block of Purdue Street. During the same time frame, a third-row seat was taken from an unlocked black 2007 Tahoe in the same block.

At 12:15 p.m., a resident of the 3600 block of Southwestern Boulevard reported the theft of a $100 Merc Walsh wallet containing $30 in cash from an unlocked black 2014 Mercedes SUV on Aug. 23.

29 SATURDAY
At 9:50 a.m., a resident of the 2800 block of Rosedale Avenuereported the theft of an $18,000 necklace from their house sometime prior to Aug. 15.

At 5:15 p.m., Mary Lehr Rothschild, 59, of University Park was arrested in the 6400 block of Hillcrest Avenue on a public intoxication charge.

30 SUNDAY
At 12:15 a.m., John Easby-Smith, 21, of Little Rock, Ark., was arrested at Park Cities Plaza on a public intoxication charge.

Between 4:49 and 5:55 a.m., a thief stole a $300 wallet containing $100 in cash from an unlocked black 2013 Range Rover inside an unlocked garage in the 3500 block of Centenary Drive.

Between 9 p.m. on Aug. 29 and 8 a.m. on Aug. 30, a thief stole a $395 Trek boys bicycle from a driveway in the 3900 block of Amherst Street.
