Scots Return to Gridiron Today
The familiar sounds of football practice return to Highlander Stadium today, less than three weeks before Highland Park officially opens its first season in the new 6A classification.
The Scots will work out each afternoon this week, and will practice in pads for the first time on Friday, per University Interscholastic League guidelines. The team will hold an intrasquad scrimmage on Saturday morning.
HP also will hold afternoon practices next week, leading up to a scrimmage on Friday night at Plano West. The regular season will begin on Aug. 30 against Frisco Centennial in the Tom Landry Classic at SMU’s Ford Stadium.
