HPDPS Has Blocked Off Armstrong Parkway

Because of a gas leak in the 4300 block of Livingston Avenue, Highland Park spokesperson Marty Nevil has informed us that the Highland Park DPS has blocked off the 5300 block of Armstrong Parkway to both foot and vehicle traffic. Parents picking up children from school are advised to take an alternate route and avoid the area. The gas company is on site and working to contain the leak.

I am so impressed with Highland Park police and fire. We were scheduled to play soccer tournament at Bradfield at 4:30. HP police officer met us at field, explained the predicament, was professional, kept the kids safe and handled it with expertise. HP fire came and one of the emergency officers cleared the situation to allow us to play. This is all going on at the same time as the Mockingbird accident! Kudos HP police and fire for the handling of 2 emergency situations.
