Shelby Hoge & Matthew Comeaux
Shelby Hoge and Matthew Comeaux exchanged sacred wedding vows on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church. Dr. Blair Monie, pastor of Preston Hollow Presbyterian, officiated the ceremony. Brett Taylor, a dear friend, played guitar and sang the Lord’s Prayer, and Kristin Van Cleve played the violin. A reception of dining and dancing followed at the Ritz-Carlton.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Burton Hoge of University Park. She paired her beautiful, couture gown with a cathedral-length veil.
The bride carried a bouquet of white peonies, bound together with an heirloom handkerchief, belonging to her grandmother Shirley Hansing. It was embroidered with her grandmother’s name, with a small photo of the bride’s beloved Aunt Barb attached. The bride also carried her Kappa Kappa Gamma handkerchief, concealed beneath her gown, a tradition passed down by her Kappa sisters before her. Shelby completed her ensemble with her mother’s pearl earrings.
Assisting the bride as maid of honor was her sister, Jennifer Kay Hoge. Bridesmaids included Mary Strode Ayers, Emily Venk Cook, Jennifer Burr Davis, Megan Lynn Evans, Julia Kathryn Jones, Ashley Reed Merritt, Molly Hicks Quirk, Meredith Woodruff Reiff, Ann Patterson Rooney, Natalie Joy Smith, and Whitney Leigh Woodruff.
Among the members of the house party were Madeleine Hamsher Fidler, Rachel Kircher Hubbard, Lyndsay Ann Mendenhall, Casey Lamar Shelley, Sarah Elizabeth Smith, and Lindsey Strueber. Elizabeth Marie Comeaux, the groom’s niece, was flower girl.
