Bon Jovi Hearts HP Girls Lacrosse

You know by know that Jon Bon Jovi is a fan of helping the homeless. He’s also, apparantly, a fan of high school girls lacrosse. The rock star, in town for a sold out, two-night stint at the American Airlines Center, made an unexpected appearance at last night’s showdown between ESD and Highland Park at Highlander Stadium.

“I don’t know why he was there, but I’m not complaining,” says Highland Park coach Amanda Walker.

But in case you’re wondering what the venerable rocker is doing stopping by random high school sporting events, word is that he was there with guitarist Richie Sambora visiting friends Shy and Charlotte Anderson (daughter of Jerry Jones), whose daughter plays for HP.

Bon Jovi’s magic didn’t quite wear off on HP. ESD won the game 20-9.

    a) Amanda Walker is an awesome coach
    b) I’m sad we lost to ESD because the parents are the rudest group of fans my children have ever played against. Bar none. Including when we lived in Oak Cliff.
    c) Jon Bon Jovi is still hot after all these years.

Just curious…what does living in Oak Cliff have to do with being rude?

I was at the ESD v. HP game girls game. Fun to see Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora. However, both groups of parents encouraged their team and applauded the other’s good play. I neither saw nor heard “rude” parents from either side. Very strange comment considering how positive both coaches are, and how well these girls know one another from playing together on summer travel teams, etc.

You want to see rude? NOthing beats the way HP parents act at the state championship tennis matches. I am from HP and I was stunned. They shure said some nice things to the other children their kids were playing against. The absolute RUDEST parents live here.
